Located in the Musgrave Province of Western Australia (near the SA & NT borders, 1000km northeast of Kalgoorlie), the West Musgrave project will see the construction of a copper and nickel mine. West Musgrave is set to be one of the world’s largest, lowest cost, lowest emissions copper-nickel projects. Once complete, it is expected to produce up to 12 M-tons of copper and nickel a year for 26 years, a significant contribution as the world moves into a rapidly growing de-carbonisation and electrification era.

Melchor has been engaged to construct all in-situ concrete works, including:

  • reinforcement
  • formwork
  • concrete placement

The project scope consists of the construction of a Primary Crusher 28 metres in height, two 50m long Reclaim Tunnels, two Vertical Roller Mills, each consisting of 1,600m3 of concrete, and pre-cast of T-roff beams on site.

Expected Key Highlights:

  • 26,000 m3 of concrete required to complete the mining circuit
  • Vertical Roller Mill will have a single pour of 1,060m3
