We offer a range of training opportunities to our team to cater for the development of everyone: our blue-collar, white-collar, site-based, office-based, experienced, and less-experienced team members.

Apprenticeship Opportunities

Melchor Contracting is committed to fostering the next generation of civil construction professionals with our in-house apprenticeship and traineeship program. We directly employ and support apprentices through the entire 2-to-4-year journey to qualification completion.

Our stable pipeline of work gives our apprentices certainty in achieving their goal of qualifying as a tradesperson. We are helping to future-proof the local market by training the next generation.

We actively support and mentor all Melchor Contracting apprentices and trainees to help them adapt to the challenges of working within the Construction industry. Melchor Contracting hosts an Apprentice Wellness and Golf Day each year to help promote a holistically healthy workplace. We hope that prioritising mental health awareness from day one of an apprenticeship will result in employees continuing this awareness throughout their careers.

Nurturing Future Leaders

To ensure Melchor Contracting remains a progressive and socially responsible business, we have developed a Leadership Development program to improve the skill sets, abilities, and confidence of our current and future generation of leaders.

Participants complete in-depth, tailor-made modules aligned with the company’s vision and values. Each module is complemented with one-on-one coaching sessions with an external consultant, ensuring participants can develop the skills they need to manage their careers, lead others to success, and take our business forward.

Growth Opportunities

Personalised training opportunities for new skills and interests are planned during career development discussions. We actively encourage our team to upskill, whether obtaining high-risk work licences, completing first aid training, or undertaking software or professional development courses.

Supporting MATES

Melchor Contracting supports MATES in Construction WA (MATES) financially and voluntarily for their outstanding work within our industry. As part of our state partnership with MATES, all Melchor employees complete the General Awareness Training within the first three months of their employment.

It brings Melchor immense pride that many of our workforce choose to go on and complete their Connector and ASIST training. Melchor ensures any employee who wants to complete further training can. These programs educate our team on good mental health practices, help build resilience, and encourage individuals to connect their teammates to support networks when needed.
