In 2017, Talison Tianqi Lithium Australia commenced construction of a large chemical grade lithium processing plant (CGP2).

During stage one of construction, Melchor Contracting supplied all labour, plant and temporary works and materials for the steel fixing, concrete placement and formwork.

With the processing plant in the Kwinana Industrial Area now operational, Tianqi Lithium Australia produced Western Australia’s first battery-grade lithium hydroxide in May 2022. The lithium hydroxide supplies global customers, producing rechargable batteries for the electric vehicle and energy storage system industries.

Upon delivering Stage 1, Georgiou engaged Melchor Contracting to complete further works in Stage 2.
