At 1.5 kilometres wide and 5 kilometres long, Mt Whaleback (located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia) is the single-biggest open-pit iron ore mine in the world.

Melchor Contracting was engaged by VisionStream to help construct the concrete foundations for the new communications towers at the Mt Whaleback mine.

Melchor Contracting supplied all labour, and temporary works for the steel fixing, concrete placement and formwork.
