Wilman Wadandi Highway - Bunbury Outer Ring Road
- Location: Bunbury, Western Australia
- Project Owner: Main Roads WA
- Year completed: 2023 - 2024
The Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) is a 27-kilometre, four-lane, high-standard road linking Forrest Highway to Bussell Highway. The project will deliver improved freight efficiency, enhanced port access, increased road safety and reduced congestion.
Melchor was responsible for the construction of three new tee-roff bridges – Bridges 1839, 1840, and 1845 – along with other miscellaneous concrete works. These three bridges account for 84 of the 151 tee-roff beams installed on the project.
Bridge 1845, the longest in the South West at 382 metres, carries BORR over Golding Crescent, the Ferguson River, the freight rail line, and Boyanup–Picton Road. Bridges 1839 and 1840 span the Collier River.
Melchor was engaged to construct all in-situ concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, and concrete placement, and to assist with the installation of precast elements, including precast headstock shells, tee-roff beams, and barriers.
The bridges included:
45 piers (each 1.5 metres in diameter)
17 headstocks (each weighing 58 tonnes)
84 tee-roff beams (up to 43.4 metres in length and weighing up to 150 tonnes each)
1,400 tonnes of reinforcement
6,100 cubic metres of concrete
