Perth Metronet: Yanchep Rail Extension
- Location: Yanchep, Western Australia
- Project Owner: Public Transport Authority (PTA)
- Year completed: 2020 - 2024
Melchor was engaged to construct all in-situ concrete works on the Yanchep Rail Extension project.
The rail extension comprises a 14.5-kilometre expansion of the line from the existing Butler Station to Yanchep. The project includes the construction of 15 bridges and three train stations, located at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep.
The project is expected to involve the placement of approximately 30,000 cubic metres of concrete over a period of 24 months. This equates to approximately 5,550 tonnes of steel reinforcement.
The works include bottom-up and top-down bridge construction, piles up to 12 metres in depth, post-tensioning works, precast concrete installation, and large retaining walls of varying widths and up to 11 metres in height.
