The project involves the construction of a new Train Load Out (TL02) facility, feed conveyor, power supply and additional rail deviation infrastructure, while ensuring that the existing Train Load Out facility (TL01) remains fully operational throughout construction.

Melchor is responsible for delivering a significant scope of civil works, including approximately 6,500 cubic metres of concrete across TL02, CV113 and TS112, supported by an on-site batching plant. The scope also includes all in-situ concrete works for the TL02 superstructure.

In addition, Melchor is undertaking approximately 350,000 cubic metres of bulk earthworks, including the construction of a three-kilometre rail embankment replacement and associated laydown areas. Detailed earthworks are also being completed for conveyor and transfer station foundations.

The project scope further includes the management and execution of three shutdowns, ingo and outgo rail works, haul road construction, underboring for services, material screening and the extraction of approximately 8,500 cubic metres of rock within the TL02 pocket using rock saw cutting techniques.

The project presents a complex construction environment, requiring the delivery of major infrastructure works while maintaining the ongoing operation of critical existing rail infrastructure.
