The Geraldton Port Maximisation Truck Unloader Project will facilitate the delivery of a truck unloader at Lease 11, located in the Port of Geraldton, a major regional centre for the Mid West of Western Australia that forms a critical part of the supply chain linking the region to national and international markets.

As part of a wider maximisation project, Melchor is delivering the PMax Lease 11 Truck Unloader Project in collaboration with Monadelphous' Maintenance and Industrial Services division and GCo Australia, while being overseen by Agilitus and the Mid West Port Authority.

The scope of works includes the supply, installation and commissioning of all the required civil, structural, mechanical and piping, electrical, instrumentation and communications for the new truck unloader. This includes the truck unloader and its enclosing shed, washdown water and water filtration system, modifications to existing Transfer Tower TT500, installation of the principal-supplied electrical substation for the facility and the realignment of Gillam Road.

Delivering this scope of works whilst keeping the current truck unloader operational throughout the project in a fully functioning port has presented its own set of complexities, including the management of stringent environmental sensitivities and interfaces with the local community and residential properties. All of these have been successfully managed through thorough control measures, ongoing supervision and monitoring.
