Albany Ring Road
- Location: Albany, Western Australia
- Project Owner: Main Roads WA
- Year completed: 2022 - 2023
The Albany Ring Road project delivers an 11.5-kilometre freight route around the City of Albany, supporting the transport of grain, fertiliser, woodchips and other goods to the Port of Albany.
The ring road connects the major existing roads and highways radiating from Albany, bypassing urban areas and improving access to the Mirambeena Strategic Industrial Area. It also removes heavy vehicles from existing roads, reducing congestion and improving safety for both local and tourist traffic.
Melchor was engaged to construct all in-situ concrete works, including reinforcement, formwork, and concrete placement, for two bridges: one located over South Coast Highway and the other, the Hanrahan Road Bridge, spanning the railway on Frenchman Bay Road.
Melchor constructed the following structures:
Abutments
9-metre-tall centre pier columns
Deflection footings and walls
MSE wall precast panel installation
