On Friday 2 May, Melchor took to the WA Civil Construction Industry & Training Awards 2025, which is about recognising the dedication, skill, and hard work of the individuals who are making a real difference in the civil industry.  Melchor was well represented across 10 award categories, including 10 individuals and two company initiatives.

A special congratulations to Zerubabela (Zee) Pera, who was officially named Site Supervisor of the Year! This is well deserved accolades for Zee who is a highly respected teammate and an asset to his crew.

Zee commenced on Melchor's West Musgrave project and was involved for 12 months as the lead Steelfixing Supervisor and Crane/Rigging Supervisor. His management of a significant structure at heights and his vast technical knowledge of reinforcement requirements contributed to the project's success and led to program time savings on some of the large structures, including the Primary Crusher and VRMs.

Operations Manager Dylan Ogilvie said that Zee manages his crews in an approachable and friendly but firm manner.

"What's impressive is his ability to professionally handle any tricky personal situations while maintaining high levels of empathy and integrity," he said.

"He has also grown into an excellent public speaker who demands respect from all attendees.

"His ability to successfully integrate new starters and lead the strong culture of the business is also admirable, and engagement he drives contributes to our overall performance."

Congratulations Zee on your award, as well as to all of the other nominees and award winners.
